Samuel Augustus Orcutt

Graveside service for Samuel Augustus Orcutt will be 11 a.m., Wed., June 6, at Highland Cemetery, Inola, with Rev. Jerry Byrd officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 3-6 p.m.

Samuel died Sun., June 3, 2012, at Claremore Indian Hospital at the age of 84.

The son of Homer Augustus and Pauline Dean (Bullers) Orcutt was born Aug. 8, 1927, in San Benito, TX. Samuel grew up in Antlers, OK, and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy. On July 6, 1948, Samuel married Clemie Hatcher. Samuel worked in the oilfields and on the pipleline. He also worked many years as a paint contractor. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Samuel is preceded in death by his sons: Jimmy and Homer; his parents; brothers: Calvin, Bob, Blaine, and Homer Orcutt; sister, Gloria; and great-granddaughter, Sara Ann Hilbert.

He is survived by his wife, Clemie of the home; children: Sam Orcutt, Jr., Kathy Chasteen and husband, Daniel, and Mike Orcutt and wife, Valerie all of Inola; sisters: Jean Pace of Andalousa, AL, and Sarah Wooten of California; 3 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
