Graveside service for Bruce Leonard Metcalf will be 10 a.m., Fri., June 10, at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery with Rev. Clayton Paslay officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army. Burial will follow under the direction of Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-8 p.m.
Bruce died June 7, 2011, at St. John Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 68.
The son of Leonard Pearl and Olive Marie (Coble) Metcalf was born Aug. 8, 1942, in Tulsa. He graduated from Will Rogers High School and served in the U.S. Army. On Sept. 3, 1960, he married Margaret Brown in Tulsa. Bruce owned and operated Southeast Service Heat & Air for 35 years. He enjoyed playing golf and guitar, riding Goldwings, camping, and spending time in his motor home with his beloved baby dogs, Chi-chi and Rosey. Bruce and Margaret moved to Inola 4 years ago. Bruce will be remembered for being quick witted, and having a great sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Margaret of the home; children: Bruce A. Metcalf and wife, Melissa of Henryetta, Mark Metcalf and wife, Jennifer of McAlester, Jim Metcalf and wife, Cindy of Keller, TX, Michael Metcalf and wife, Rae Dawn of Catoosa, and Sue Brown and husband, Scott of Catoosa; sisters: Peggy Robinson of Sperry and Louise Epperly of Mounds; grandchildren: Allen, Chris Lee, Hollie,Lane, Payden, Andrew, Bailee, Marci, Zack, Adddie, Amanda, Aaron, Rebecca, Kyle, Samantha, Rainey, Ryan, Chris Blake and wife Katy, Lauryn, Adria, Michaela Helen, Michaela Renea,; mother-in-law, Helen Brown of Inola; and sister-in-law, Betty Boyd and husband, L.D. of Inola.
