Funeral service for Alfie Waldrup will be held 11:00 am Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the Chelsea Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Chelsea Cemetery.
Alfie passed away on Sunday, February 16th, 2020, at the age of 85.
The daughter of Charles and Sophia (Bradshaw) Monroe was born May 19th, 1934 in Inola, Oklahoma. There she was raised and attended school. It was also in Inola that she first met Marvin Waldrup. They began dating, and married on October 7, 1950 in Muskogee. Over the next few years the couple made their home in Inola. In the years to follow they would move to Winganon. After their children were raised, Alfie and Marvin sold the farm, and moved to lake Hudson. This was great for Alfie, because it was the perfect location to support her favorite past time of fishing. She made trips almost daily to her dock to catch crappie. Eventually she would put away all her fishing gear and move to Pryor, and then finally to Chelsea to be near her children.
She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Sophia Monroe, husband Marvin Waldrup, and fourteen siblings.
Survivors include her children, Richard Waldrup and wife Judy, Wanda Girten and husband Tom, and Curtis Waldrup, all of Chelsea; grandchildren, Mark Proctor, Michael Waldrup, Brandi Payne, Jerad Girten, Tiffany Riddle, Brody Waldrup, and Melissa Boyle, and 17 great-grandchildren.
