Alma Ruth Melton

Funeral service for Alma Ruth Melton will be on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 10:00am at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rankin Cemetery in Mulberry, Arkansas. Alma passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, she was 92.

Alma was born to Virgil and Bessy (Tucker) Beneux on August 28, 1930, in Mulberry, AR. Alma would attend Mulberry High School and graduated with the class of 1948. Alma grew up farming in rural Arkansas and from an early age knew the meaning of hard work. Later in life, she would work at Humpty Dumpty Grocery as a cashier. Alma was always up for an adventure and would be ready to go at anytime, she loved to travel. Alma enjoyed dancing and always enjoyed getting to gossip with friends and family. She loved to visit different churches over the years, church was always an important part of her life. Above all else, Alma loved her family. Any time she got to spend with her children and grandchildren was a blessing to her. Alma will be greatly missed by all that knew her and loved her. 

Alma is preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, and husband Caramel.

Alma is Survived by her son, David Smalley; daughters, Gail Pilkington, and Gayla McKenzie and husband Wesley, and one step-son, Duane Morse, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
