Alvin Ben Froese

Alvin Ben Froese passed away on March 16, 2025, at the age of 89. He was born at home in Inola, Oklahoma, on August 24, 1935, to Jake and Katie Froese. Alvin attended Inola Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1953.

After completing his education, Alvin dedicated his life to farming and ranching, a career he pursued with passion and commitment. He was an active member of several agricultural organizations, including the Farm Bureau Board, Farm Service Agency Board, Rogers County Cattlemen’s Association, and the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association.

In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife, Shirley, especially to Branson, Missouri, and visiting family in Wyoming and Brownsville, Texas. Above all, family was the most important part of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Alvin was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Froese; his parents, Jake and Katy Froese; his brother, Wayne Froese; and his sister, Delorse Wood.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda Hines and husband James, and Ruth Ellison and husband Lynn; grandchildren, Brandy Duggan, Blake Ellison, Bailey Fennell, Max Cookson, Mitch Cookson, and Melissa Gonzalez; along with 16 great-grandchildren and many other extended family members.

Alvin’s legacy of hard work, love for family, and dedication to the agricultural community will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

In Lieu of Flowers the family has asked for donation to be made to the Eden Mennonite Church.
