Graveside service for Amanda Irene (Smith) Ellison Baker will be 11 a.m., Wed., Aug. 18, at Oowala Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wed. 9-10:45 a.m.
Irene died Sun., Aug. 15, 2010, at Wood Manor Nursing Home at the age of 89.
The daughter of Ambrose Henderson and Minnie Alauda (Loytas) Smith was born April 22, 1921, in Ava, MO, in Douglas County. She moved to Oklahoma in 1924. On Feb. 6, 1940, Irene married Unie Valdo Ellison. To this union was borned one son, Lewis Bibb Ellison. Unie Valdo Ellison died in 1973. Irene married Lloyd Vincent Baker in 1976 in Pryor.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Unie and Lloyd; son, Lewis Bibb Ellison; and siblings: Homer Smith, Ambrose Smith, Jr., Edgie Rexroat, Bertha Horner, and Eunice Ferguson.
She is survived by grandson, Robert Valdo Ellison; granddaughter, Carrie Gayrene Ellison; 5 great-granddaughters; and sister, Dollie Shaffer of Monett, MO.
