Funeral service for Amy Lola Willhoite will be 11 a.m., Wed., June 26, at New Hope Church of God with Rev. Don Martin and Rev. Duane Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Amy passed away Sun., June 23, 2013, at Rolling Hills Nursing Home at the age of 92.
The daughter of George Albert and Nettie May (Doty) Ott was born Aug. 1, 1920, in Drummond, OK. She grew up in Ames, OK, and attended school at Cimarron Valley and Ames. On Jan. 22, 1939, Amy married Louis Earl Willhoite in Ames. Louis was from Tiawah, and after they were married that is where they made there home. They moved to Claremore in 1955. Amy enjoyed crocheting, reading, word search puzzles, fishing, and going to garage sales with her daughters. She loved gospel music, and playing piano and accordian. Amy was a member of Westwood Pentecostal Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis in 1990; her parents; brothers: Ira, Gilbert, and Ben Ott; and son-in-law, Ken Steffens.
Amy is survived by her sons: Larry Willhoite and wife, Ladean of Claremore, and Darvin Willhoite and wife, Sheila of LeAnder, TX; daughters: Janice Steffens, and Rita Jones and husband, Robert all of Claremore; brother, Jerry Ott of Eugene, OR, sister, Alma Tabor Marlin of Claremore; sister-in-law, Anne Ott of Enid; 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
