Memorial service for Anita Joy Cruce will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2019 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel. Anita passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2019. She was 85.
The 12th of 13 children, Anita was born on March 3, 1934 to Homer Wesley and Melissie Mae (Lawson) Ousley, in Buckhart, Missouri. On September 11, 1954, she married Woodrow W. Cruce at the First Christian Church in Miami, Oklahoma. Their union was blessed with one son, Robert J. Cruce.
Anita retired from the Department of Human Services, Child Welfare Division, in May of 1989. She dedicated 25 years of faithful service to her career.
Those family members that survive include her son Robert J. Cruce and his wife Lorlaine of Muskogee; her sister Beatrice Brown of Pryor, and her brother Jack Ousley of Molene, Illinois.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, husband Woodrow Cruce, her brothers and sisters, Terry Ousley, Wayne Ousley, Carrie Ousley, Don Ousley, Faye Forrest, Verda Miller, Zelda Huggins, Lillie Brown, Bessie Reunker and Virginia Saving.
