Ann was called home on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Claremore Nursing Home at the age of 87.
The daughter of Clinton Edwin Colby and Grace (Weld) Colby was born January 12, 1929, in Rockford, IL. They moved to Fond-du-lac, Wisconsin, where Ann graduated from high school. On December 13, 1947, she married Eugene Louis Penman in Fond-du-lac. Shortly after they moved to Beaver Dam, WI, where they raised their family. Ann helped her husband in the family business, Pizza Villa, and also worked at Grace Presbyterian Church. Ann later moved to Tucson, AZ, a few years after her father passed to be near her mother. She was also a dedicated and loving caretaker to her mother in her final years, and worked at Rincon Congregational Church. In 1998, she moved to Claremore with her daughter and became active in her church, Claremore Assembly of God, and the community. She spent many days at the church helping with Senior lunches, attending Bible study and prayer groups, and visiting seniors. Ann loved working in her garden, traveling, and spending time with her beloved pets.
After she could not live at home anymore, she moved to Claremore Nursing Home. The family is so grateful for the excellent care and love the staff showed her. From administration to nurses, aides, food service, and housekeeping. Everyone at Claremore Nursing Home made her last years comfortable.
Also, the family would like to thank Good Shepherd Hospice. Even though Ann was only with them for a few days, they showed her and her family such compassion and loving care. Thank you Good Shepherd Hospice for making her journey home as comfortable as possible.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Dunham and husband, Paul of Claremore; grandchildren: Ginny Morgan and husband, Russell, Matthew Dunham, Kaitlynn Hink and husband, John all of Claremore; great-grandson, Colby Morgan of Claremore; son-in-law, Jeff Redmond of Claremore; and many nieces and cousins.
