Anna went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the age of 88.
Anna Marie Moore was born July 28, 1931 in Gowen Oklahoma to Coy Lee Nunley and Marie Bennett McKinley. At a young age, Anna met the love of her life, Gerald Moore, in Lone Oak while attending school. At only fifteen the two were on a bus to Mena Arkansas and married on December 21, 1946. Anna and Gerald settled around the Claremore area. Anna worked as a certified nursing assistant and certified medical assistant in Aunt Carey’s Nursing Home for fifteen years. Above all, Anna was a devoted wife to Gerald for 69 years until his passing, and a loving mother to their four children.
Anna was dedicated to the Lord, being heavily involved in church. She taught Sunday school for over forty years. In her spare time Anna loved to work on her embroidery and quilting projects that she often gifted to her family. Anna was known for her beautiful flowerbed, which was adorned with her favorite roses and African violets. If you were to visit Anna and Gerald’s house you would have seen her vast collection of music boxes, Redbird collectibles and antique dolls. Her most treasured dolls were signed by Rose D.E. Witt. About ten years ago Anna suffered a life changing event. Even though she lost the ability to speak that day, she gained a new perspective. Through the hardship, Anna remained humble and passionate about life. With just a gentle touch of her hand, or a calming caring look, Anna could bring peace to anyone around her.
Anna is preceded in death by her husband Gerald Moore, daughter Janet Happy and husband Bill, son Wayne Moore, son-in-law Gary Wayne Haddox, one grandchild, one great-grandchild, two sisters, and her parents.
Surviving family includes children Phillip Eugene Moore of Inola and Brenda Joyce Haddox of Claremore, daughter-in-law Ruthie Moore of Chelsea, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and one very dear friend, Sandra Swan.
