Anna Dean Seals

January 15, 1948 — May 18, 2024

Inola, Ok

Anna (Stephenson) Seals was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She and her twin sister were the first born children to Eugene and Rudene Stephenson on January 15, 1948, in Okay, Oklahoma. She peacefully departed from this world on May 18, 2024.

Anna attended Phillis Wheatley Grammar School then matriculated to the beloved Lincoln High School in Wagoner, OK, an all Black school with a rich history of education. Anna’s time at Lincoln is featured in a book about Lincoln High School by author Patricia Jackson. She did not graduate from there, but went on to Okay High School where she was part of a group of students that helped integrate the school. She graduated from Okay High School in 1966 and later worked as a banking clerk for Conoco Phillips until her well-deserved retirement in 1993.

She met her husband, the love of her life, Michael Seals in Tulsa, OK and they married in July 8, 1972. The couple lived in several states before resettling in Oklahoma in the late nineteen nineties. They honored the Lord and their sacred wedding vows remaining lovingly married until death did them part.

Anna and Michael loved their church family and fervently served the Lord. Her commitment to the Lord left a lasting impact on all those she encountered. She was never ashamed to share the good news of the gospel. Her enduring prayer was for all of her family members to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Known for her talkative nature and love for engaging conversations, Anna had a vibrant personality that drew people towards her. She adored having her family close and cherished every moment spent in their company.

Anna had a keen passion for cooking and exploring new cuisines. Traveling held a special place in her heart, with some of her favorite destination being Texas, Boston, and Denver. Additionally, she enjoyed shopping excursions, watching cooking shows, Westerns, and most importantly, having her family gathered around her.

Anna is survived by her siblings: Gloria Stephenson, Okay, OK; Dessa Stephenson, Okay, OK; Roger (Verdell) Stephenson Wagoner, OK; Trina Stephenson, Guthrie, OK; Gladys (Kevin) Cheeseboro, Aurora, CO; and Dale (Peggy) Stephenson, Okay, OK; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and her god-children.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Michael Seals along with her father Eugene Stephenson and mother Rudene Stephenson; as well as by her twin sister (in infancy) and her younger sister Sandra Stephenson.

Anna Dean Seals will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warm heart and infectious laughter will remain forever etched in the memories of those lives she touched.

May she rest in peace.
