Leo Gwartney and Ann married in 1984, and from that union she acquired some very special
children, Kristy and Micky Davis, Kerry and Jack Hope, Kelly and Kenneth Horner & their many
beautiful children and grandchildren that surrounded her with love. The too numerous to start
naming family that also surrounded Ann, goes on so much farther with all the nephews &
nieces resulting from her amazing brothers' & sisters' marriages. Ann’s loves include being an
avid reader, flower gardening, thrift store & garage sale shopping, poetry writing, cooking for
family and family gatherings. Most of all, Ann loved people, her late in life friendships with
Donna, Judy & so many others became highlights of her and their lives. She asked anyone she
met if they knew Jesus and continued asking until she was unable.
Ann graduated from Stillwell High School. She lived in Tulsa from 1945 to 1955 working for
various oil companies in accounting, purchasing and bookkeeping. She lived in Louisiana and
Texas from 1955 until 1965 which included working as bookkeeper in the office of Hughes
Sales & Service, an oil field service company she owned with her husband Jim.
Real estate was Ann’s passion for many years having been the owner/broker of A.M. Huffman
Company from 1974 until 2020 after having worked with Mr. Huffman since 1966. All of Ann’s
children and many grandchildren have gone into the real estate business, it seems this
pioneering woman that blazed her own trail may have influenced some.
Ann was a tree hugger before it was cool having saved two large trees from being cut down to
make way for a sidewalk. She organized a protest with picket signs near the trees going to
council meetings and won her case with the city which assured those two trees survival to this
day. Therefore, on that note, Ann asked that in lieu of flowers she would like contributions to be
used to plant a tree in Claremore or private yards of loved ones and friends.
