Ardith Arlinta Rider, a beloved member of the Sequoyah Claremore, Oklahoma community, passed away on June 23 2024. She was born on November 4, 1941, in Verdigris, Oklahoma. Ardith was a woman of many talents and passions throughout her life.
Ardith's journey was filled with significant roles and accomplishments. She attended Sequoyah schools, she later went on to own a café with her mother-in-law for several years. Subsequently she dedicated 35 years of her life serving alongside her husband as a pastor. Her commitment to faith and family defined her character.
Described as a good Christian woman who cherished her family deeply, Ardith's warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. In her leisure time, she enjoyed engaging in word puzzles, knitting, needlepoint, and fishing at Oologah Lake. However, above all else, she found solace in being home surrounded by her loved ones.
Ardith found immense pride in being a mother and grandmother—a testament to her nurturing spirit and unwavering love for her family. Her memory will forever be cherished by her surviving family members: her husband James H Rider II; daughters Val Davis (and husband Gary), DuRonda Tefft (and husband William), Teresa Pickup, Leah Anne Boswell; sister Jolene Riddle; brother Marvin O. Kendall (and wife Sandra); as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and numerous other beloved family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Sonja Dee Leach, son Terrance Scott Rider, father M.O. Kendall, mother Mary LaVena Kendall, sisters Bobbie Kendall and Nina Judine Kendall.
In conclusion, Ardith Arlinta Rider will be remembered for her unwavering faith, loving nature, and dedication to both family and community. Her legacy will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
