Armand “Greg” Anthony Gregoli, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2023. He was born on November 9, 1935, in Newark, New Jersey to Rosario Gregoli and Palma Gregoli. He married Elizabeth Maude Dunagan on October 3rd, 1959 in Lawrenceville, Georgia after meeting her while stationed at Hunter Air Force Base in Savannah, Georgia.
Armand had a successful career as a chemical engineer, working for Chevron, Cities Service and Occidental Petroleum for many years until his retirement. He authored many patents and publications. His dedication and expertise in the field left an enduring impact on those who worked alongside him.
In addition to his professional achievements, Armand valued his family above all else. He always cherished spending time with his two grandsons, Luke and Jonathan. He created countless precious memories with them.
Armand graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1953 before pursuing higher studies at New Jersey Institute of Technology. He earned both a B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering, showcasing his determination and intellect.
A man of great integrity and generosity, Armand will be remembered for his loving and giving nature. He touched the lives of many through acts of kindness and selflessness throughout his life. Armand's warm smile and compassionate soul made him a true beacon of light in the lives of those who knew him.
Armand also proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he achieved the rank of Captain. He earned a degree in Meteorology from New York University while serving. His contribution to the armed forces demonstrated his sense of duty towards his country.
Outside of work and military service, Armand had a wide range of interests that showcased both his intellect and creativity. He and Elizabeth became master gardeners. His passion for woodworking allowed him to create beautiful pieces that showcased his craftsmanship and attention to detail. Additionally, Armand possessed a deep curiosity for science and enjoyed exploring various disciplines. He and his loving wife Elizabeth cherished their travels together, with their favorite vacation being Alaskan cruises.
Armand's dedication to community service was commendable. In his spare time, he volunteered with several Boy Scout troops, nurturing the development of young minds and making a positive impact on countless lives. He was involved in the Methodist church and served on various committees.
Armand Anthony Gregoli was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth, son Paul, parents, Rosario Gregoli and Palma Gregoli, as well as his brother Frank Gregoli. He is survived by his son Mark and wife Molly Gregoli, sister Angie Cozzolongo, and grandsons Luke Gregoli and Jonathan Gregoli.
To honor his life, a visitation will be held on July 16, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory located at 310 N Broadway Ave in Inola, Oklahoma. A funeral service will take place on July 17, 2023, starting at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Inola, Oklahoma with Reverend Pam Cottrill officiating.
Armand Anthony Gregoli will forever be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his contributions to the field of chemical engineering, his passion for gardening and woodworking, and his dedication to making a difference in the lives of those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace knowing that he leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will continue to inspire generations to come.
