Arthur Pat Hipp

Graveside service for Arthur Pat "Art" Hipp will be 2 p.m., Fri., Feb. 1, at Ward's Grove Cemetery, Foyil, with Rev. Gerald Biswell officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory.

Art passed away Tues., Jan. 29, 2013 at his home at the age of 78.

The son of Nathanial Max and Grace Lanora (Gosnell) Hipp was born Dec. 2, 1934, in Tulsa. Art graduated from Claremore High School, and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force. He remained active in several veterans organizations through the years. In 1958, after he was discharged from the military Art married Audra Pauline Lee. Art worked for the Philtower Building as a building engineer for over 20 years, and then retired in 1997 from SEG. Art was a member of the First Baptist Church of Verdigris. He enjoyed playing golf, and spending time with this grandchildren.

Art is survived by his wife, Audra of the home; sons: Rick Hipp of Texas, Max Hipp and wife, Dorothy of Verdigris, and Bryan Hipp and wife, Rhonda of Broken Arrow; brothers: John Hipp of Verdigris, Wesley Hipp of Claremore, and Leslie Hipp of Claremore; sister, Nora Cooper of Claremore; grandchildren: Kristin, Kasey, Nicholas, Cody, Amy, and Emily; and great-grandchildren: Tayla and Landon.
