Arthur Harold Slaterpryce

 Arthur H. Slaterpryce 78 of Locust Grove, Oklahoma passed away on October 31, 2023. Arthur was born in Freeport, Long Island to Aubrey and Alice {Lorish} Slaterpryce.

   He moved to Schroon Lake,  New York in 1946 and  graduated from Schroon Lake Central School. Art worked at Maypine Marina, owned trucks building the Northway in summer and hauled logs to the Ticonderoga New York Paper Mill in the winter.
 
   He loved building wood furniture and even built a 20 foot mahogany boat for his personal use, naming it "The Rascal". Art then moved to Sarasota, FL. in 1979 working for George Luzier building wooden yachts then for Aquarius Yachts Sail Boats doing  woodwork and finishing out the mahogany interiors. He owned Sea Dart boats 17 ft. and 19ft along with fiberglass pleasure boats.
 
   Art was the organizer for the Schroon Lake NY Boat Club Races and also the Schroon Lake snowmobile races. He and his brother Allen placed 3rd in the Albany to New York City Marathon Boat Race in 1963. In 2019 he moved to Locust Grove, Oklahoma to be closer to his family.

   He loved the outdoors, mowing the fields and helping with the livestock and keeping the property cared for. He was also an avid reader of history and loved crossword puzzles. 

   Arthur leaves behind his wife of 60 years Linda {Huestis}, his daughter: Laura Mitchell and son: David Slaterpryce and wife Annmarie. Grandpa to: Davey Slaterpryce and wife Alanna, and Joseph Rogers. Great Grandpa to: Julian, Colton, and Peyton. Brother: Allen Slaterpryce and wife Anna. Nieces: Angela Slaterpryce, Jill Greene, DeAnne Shaw, Danielle Howell, Melanie La Perle, Amber Huestis, and Ashley Carpenter. Art is so deeply loved and will be greatly missed. 

   Contributions can be made in Art's memory to any Animal Rescue Group or any Shelter of your choice.
