Barbara Anne Johnson

Funeral service for Barbara Anne Johnson will be 10 a.m., Tues., Dec. 29, at Inola Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Richard Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Bryan's Chapel Cemetery, Boatman. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Mon. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-7 p.m.

Barbara passed away Thurs., Dec. 24, 2015, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 76.

The daughter of Roy Brackemyer and Tillana "Lena" (VenHuizen) Brackemyer was born Dec. 13, 1939, in Morrison, IL. While attending Morrison High School Barbara played clarinet in the band. After high school, Barbara went to work for General Electric in Chicago. She later moved to Fulton, IL where she worked many years for the Lockhart's Insurance Agency. She also was very proud of her work as an EMT in Fulton. On March 1, 1988, Barbara married Jerry D. Johnson in Bentonville, AR, and they made their home in Inola. They loved traveling in their motor home to every U.S. state, except Hawaii, which they flew to twice.. They also enjoyed fishing together and spending time with family. Barbara was a devout Christian and enjoyed attending services when she could. She also enjoyed sewing.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry D. Johnson of the home; daughters: Rhonda S.(James) Willis and husband, Randy of Verdigris, and Kathy J. Borkgren and husband, Carl of Princeton, IA; step-daughters: Rainey C. Talbot and husband, Mike of Owasso, Becky S. Scott and husband, Eric of Mannford, and Laura J. Johnson of Broken Arrow; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Tomasek and husband, Jim of Inola; and many friends from the Inola Health Care Center.
