Funeral service for Bernice Marie Girdner will be 2 p.m., Fri., at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Ray Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-8 p.m.

Bernice died Wed., July 20, 2011, at Wood Manor at the age of 84.

The daughter of John S. "Sol" and Ella Marie "Rhee" (Wright) Casey was born April 29, 1927, in Claremore. Bernice grew up in Claremore and graduated from Sequoyah High School. Most of her life she worked as a nurses aide and housekeeper. Bernice was a past member of the Rebekah's Lodge, and she enjoyed crocheting.

Bernice is preceded in death by her father, Sol in 1966; her mother, Rhee in 1995; brothers: Carl William Casey and Fred Casey; and grandson, Clint Massey.

She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Marie "Kathy" Murphy and husband, Lanny of Tyler, TX; brother, Leonard Ray Casey and wife, JoAnn of Claremore; granddaughter, Renee Seat and husband, Roy of Arlington, TX; and great-grandchildren: Courtney, Misty, and Caleb Seat, and Tara, Major, and Marly Massey.
