Graveside service for Berniece "B" Adams will be 2 p.m., Fri., Sept. 16, at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mark Tincher officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory.
Berniece died Fri., Sept. 9, 2011, at St. John Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 87.
She was born Sarah Berniece Snell on October 30, 1923, in Bucyrus, KS; and grew up in nearby Spring Hill, KS. On September 2, 1947, she married Ralph Adams in Puyallup, WA. They moved to Mayes County in Oklahoma, and later settled in the Claremore area in 1960. Berniece attended nursing school and worked for many years in the intensive care unit at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. After retirement she was determined to stay busy and volunteered with St. Francis Hospice, Rogers County DVIS, Meals on Wheels, and Claremore First United Methodist Church. She had a great love for walking and regularly walked 3 miles most days for many years. She also loved crafts, crocheting, fishing, and growing flowers.
Berniece is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her parents: William Snell and Jennie Snell Binam; her brothers: Richard Snell and Douglas Snell; and sisters: Helen Pearce and Virginia Kenyon.
She is survived by her children: Judy Livengood and husband, Tunney of Tulsa, Jon Adams and wife, Randi of Adair, and Steve Adams and wife, Linda of Topeka, KS; brothers: Lloyd Snell and wife, Belva of Overland Park, KS, and Everett Snell and wife, Darlynn of Linn Valley, KS; grandchildren: Jennifer Aranda and husband, Joaquin of Broken Arrow, Sean Livengood and wife, Karri of Tulsa, Michael Adams of Claremore, Michelle McNelly and husband, Chazz of Claremore, Rachel Ciordas and husband, Ionut of Fairway, KS, Rebecca Adams of Topeka, KS, and Ryan Adams of Topeka, KS; great-grandchildren: Noah, Ethan, and Tyson Grimett of Claremore, Abigail Ray and Gabriella Adams of Topeka, KS, and Matthew Aranda of Broken Arrow; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
