Bert L. Medlock

Funeral service for Bert L. Medlock will be 2 p.m., Fri., Dec. 16, at Inola First Baptist Church with Rev. Victor Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-6 p.m. Bert died Tues., Dec. 13, 2011, at St. John's Hospital, Owasso, at the age of 84. The son of John William and Polly Ann (Schmelzla) Medlock was born Dec. 7, 1927, in Park Hill. Around 1934, his family moved to Inola, where Bert helped his family and friends farm. In 1959, Bert married Elsie Deloris Peterson in Morrison, IL. He started driving trucks and hauling equipment. He later drove for Pure Milk and AMPI. He was awarded numerous safe driving medals. Bert enjoyed growing vegetables and Naked Ladies flowers, bowling, fishing, and coon hound hunting. He also enjoyed John Deere tractors, and attended lots of tractor pulls.
