Funeral service for Roberta "Bertie" Chaney will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 at the House of Prayer. Pastor Bernadean Carter will officiate. Burial will follow at Lone Elm Cemetery under the direction of the MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 1-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7.

Bertie passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at her home in Claremore at the age of 75.

The daughter of Robert and Bertha Shouse Lecrone was born September 13, 1938 in Foyil, Oklahoma. She attended Foyil and Claremore schools. February 13, 1960 she married George Edward Chaney. They then made their home in Locust Grove before moving to Claremore. She devoted all her time to her family, making sure they were well taken care of. As her children became older she began to enjoy many other activities such as, fishing, bowling, sewing, doing crafts, and gardening. She was also dedicated to her church, The House of Prayer. Her attendance was faithful until her health made her unable to attended.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bertha Lecrone, and husband, George Edward Chaney.

Survivors include her son, Robin Culie and wife Teresa of Peggs, George Chaney and wife Janie of Foyil; grandchildren, Ed Culie and wife Corbi, Rob Culie and wife Ronnie, Michelle Ford and husband Robert, Ricky Hendrix and wife Julie, Brandy Hendrix and husband Brad, Korie Hendrix, Angela Hendrix-Woods and husband Rodney, Brittany Hendrix-Clark and husband Dustin, and brother, Bill Lecrone; and 16 great grandchildren.
