Bertie Louise Smith

Graveside service for Bertie Louise Smith will be 10 a.m., Mon., at Pleasant Hope Cemetery, Adair, with Bro. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Chelsea Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sun. 1-6 p.m.

Bertie passed away Thurs., July 30, 2015, at Heartsworth Senior Living, Vinita, at the age of 86.

The daughter of Jesse Boone Boykin and Roberta Edith (Delozier) Boykin was born Aug. 12, 1928, in Chelsea. She graduated from Chelsea High School in 1946. On July 10, 1948, Bertie married Ralph L. Smith in Chelsea, and they made their home in Adair. She worked a short time as a switchboard operator, before staying home to take care of her family. She enjoyed traveling, and antiquing in Canton, TX, with her husband. Bertie also owned an antique store in Adair, Bertie's Antiques, for many years; and attended Pleasant Hope Baptist Church.

Bertie was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; children: Linda Wooters, Michael Ray Smith, and Johnny Edward Smith; her parents; brothers: Robert J. Boykin and Jesse Ralph Boykin; and sister, Alice Richardson.

She is survived by her grandchildren: Kimberly Michelle Randolph of Oakland, CA, Johnny Ray Randolph and wife, Teresa of Wagoner, Brian Wooters and wife, Jamie of Frisco, TX, and Matthew Wooters of Frisco, TX; and great-grandchildren: Haylee and Morgan Randolph, Sabra and Elliott Schindler, and Tyler, Wyatt, and Cole Wooters.
