Betty Jo Bussey Bryan

A memorial service celebrating the life of Betty Jo Bussey Bryan will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2013 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel. Betty passed away on Thursday December 19, 2013. She was 90.

Born in Claremore on July 28, 1923 to Joe and Rhoda "Buster" Patterson, Betty received her education from Lone Elm School. Claremore has been home for most of Betty's life except time spent in New Mexico and Tulsa. While in Claremore Betty worked as a beautician and made many friends throughout the years styling hair. When she lived in Tulsa she worked for TCIM, a property management company.

Betty was blessed with 3 boys and she made sure they were well taken care of. She might have been a little strict at times but she was always fair. Betty knew when they were misbehaving even before they could get home. Her family was the light of her life and she enjoyed spending time with them.

If you were one of her children or grandchildren you might be the recipient of some tasty treats that came out of Betty's kitchen. She loved to bake and she kept her families' sweet tooth satisfied with cakes, pies and brownies. Betty lived life to its fullest and was looking forward to her 91st birthday and taking a hot air balloon ride.

A loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend, Betty will be missed by all she knew. Those family members that survive include her sons Joe Stafford and wife Sharon of Claremore, Gary Stafford and wife Jeannie and John Bussey and wife Kathy all of Oologah; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; her brother Jim Patterson and wife Marianna of Tulsa; her sisters Mary Jane Miller of Sarasota, Florida and Peggy Wilson of Ponca City and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sister Louise Patterson and 2 infant sisters.
