Betty Jo Ellison

Services celebrating and remembering the life of Betty Jo (Bradshaw) Ellison will be 10:00a.m., Monday, July 8, 2019 at Friendly Foyil Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Bob at Oowala Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday, July 7 from 1pm-6pm, with family receiving visitors from 4pm-6pm. Betty passed away on Monday, July 1st, 2019. She was 88.

Born May 9, 1931 in Claremore, Oklahoma to George Ignatious "Gus" Bradshaw and Rebecca Victoria (Jordan) Bradshaw, Betty attended school at Oowala. On April 23, 1951 she married the love of her life, Bob Ellison, together they raised three daughters.

When her kids were in school, she began working for Sequoyah School as a cafeteria cook and for the next 18 years she faithfully worked to keep those kids fed. Betty became quite famous for her hot rolls. She was also very active in her church, and taught Sunday School, Bible School and also cooked for the camps in the summer. Betty appreciated the outdoors and tending to her garden. She also loved the many flowers she grew that put a smile on her face. Her family was important and she loved reminiscing about when she was a child growing up on her family's farm. She was an avid reader and studied her Bible thoroughly.

Those family members that survive include her daughters Linda Crutchfield and husband Gary, Sandy Deaver and husband Clinton and Kathy Ellison; her grandchildren Robert Basks, Joseph Basks and wife Katy, Teri Basks and Josh Pruitt, Cari McKinney and husband Jake, Rachel Salcido and husband Sean, Beth Daugherty and husband Billy, Abby Deaver and Andrew Meyer, and Alex Harding; great grandchildren Reagan Basks, Trenton Basks, Ryan Basks, Beau Basks, Bree Basks, Riley Loyd, Remington Pruitt, Ethan Russell and Savannah Howell, Makyla Salcido, Kaden Salcido, Corban Daugherty, Asher Daugherty and Cabo Meyer; her sister Hazel Mallory: sisters-in-law Mae Stolhand and Nancy Bradshaw, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob; brothers Andy, Joe and Russell Bradshaw, sisters Junie Mallory, Minnie Melton, Gussie Bentley and Sadie Eshbach.
