Graveside service for Betty Jean Gorman will be 3 p.m., Tues., Sept. 4, at Washington Cemetery with Rev. Diana Izquierdo officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory.
Betty died Wed., Aug. 29, 2012, at Hillcrest Hospital Claremore at the age of 72.
The daughter of Elbert Moses and Goldie May (Barnes) Collins was born March 1, 1940, in Claremore. Betty is a lifetime Foyil resident, and attended Foyil schools. In 1951, Betty married Melvin H. Stover. She later married Glen R. Gorman and they started Gorman Painting. Betty retired in 1988. She also worked in health care. Betty enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, singing, playing bingo, and video games.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, William J.B. Collins.
She is survived by her children: Melvin Wayne Stover and wife, Carmen of Satelite, FL, and Carolyn Mattison and husband, Rick of Skiatook; sister, Dorothy Mae Baker of Claremore; grandchildren: Christina McClendon of Owasso, Sherina Cottrell and husband, Tommy of Centerville, TX, and Bryan Weischedel and wife, Melissa of Spring, TX; and great-grandchildren: Tommy and Ciera Cottrell of Centerville, TX, Daron Wood of Collinsville, Aubrey and Nichols McClendon of Owasso, Bryan, Jessica, and Matthew Weischedel of Spring, TX.
