Betty Evelyn Heflin

Graveside service for Betty Evelyn (Beanland) Heflin will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Woodlawn Cemetery with Pastor Graydon Croyle officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

Betty passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016, at John Knox Village Center, Lee Summit, MO, at the age of 95.

The daughter of Robert and Camilla Beanland was born June 11, 1921, in Pershing, OK. Betty attended Tiawah School in Claremore, graduating in 1940. In 1947, Betty made her home in Independence, MO. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Independence, MO. She loved being with her family with all her heart. She was also an AVID fan of the Kansas City Royals. She would never miss watching a game on television.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; and son, Vance Heflin.

She is survived by her children: Randy Heflin and wife, Rhonda, Linda Hobbs and husband, Terry, and Lance Heflin and wife, Jan; daughter-in-law, Sherry Heflin; grandchildren: Michael Hobbs and wife, Julie, Shannon Quick and husband, Jay, Patrick Heflin, Walker Heflin, Casey Heflin and wife, Joy, and Jake Heflin; great-grandchildren: Austin Heflin, Paige and Brady Hobbs, and Taylor and Jackson Heflin; and sister, Vena Casey.
