Betty passed away Sat., April 9, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 83.
The daughter of Robert Raymond Miller and Irene Mae (Rowland) Miller was born Jan. 23, 1933, in Los Angeles, CA. Around the age of four, Betty contracted Polio, and her doctor recommended dance and gymnastics for therapy. She practiced and performed dancing and gymnastics for the next 4-5 years, and was very skilled. Betty graduated from San Pedro High School. The day before her 18th birthday on Jan. 22, 1951, Betty and Eugene D. Schmidt, ran off to Yuma, AZ, to marry. They made their home in Los Angeles and Betty worked at Mindex Brothers as a meat wrapper. She later trained and became a drug counselor until she retired. After Eugene passed away, Betty married C.L. Geyman on Jan. 20, 2006. In Nov. 2015, Betty moved to Inola to be closer to her daughter, Kathy. Betty enjoyed working pottery, painting ceramics, and gardening. She also enjoyed spending time on her ipad researching geneology and staying active with social media. She loved all animals, especially her dogs.
Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene, and second husband, C.L.; granddaughter, Stefanie Rae-Jean Higgins; her parents; and siblings: Thelma Church, Margaret Hamilton, Marie Geyman, Gladys Buchanan, and Robert Miller.
She is survived by her daughters: Kathy Diane Higgins of Inola, and Diane Marie Dhenin and husband, Gary of Anaheim, CA; step-daughters: Gin Smith and husband, Kenny of Sacramento, CA, and Beverly Schuhr and husband, John of Alpharetta, GA; grandchildren: Jeffery Wayne Higgins and wife, Ginger, Kevin Eugene Higgins and wife, Stephanie, Kristopher Scott Higgins and wife, Aubrey, Nicolle Danielle Dhenin, and Grant Alan Dhenin and wife, Maleah; great-grandchildren: Destiny Wright, Mackenzie Rae-Jean Higgins, Gavin Wayne Higgins, Isaac Kristopher Higgins, Trinity LeeAnn Higgins, O'rion James Eugene Higgins, DeAndre Nicholas Dhenin, Elorah Ryan Dhenin, and Garrett Andrew Dhenin.
