Funeral service for Beulah Elizabeth Buster will be 10 a.m., Sat., Jan. 8, at First Christian Church with Revs. Ben Killion and Charles Ragland officiating. Burial will follow at Hogan Cemetery, Locust Grove at 1:30 p.m, under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Fri. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 4-6 p.m.
Beulah died Wed., Jan. 5, 2011, at Claremore Regional Hospital at the age of 105.
The daughter of Fancher and Viola (Brantley) Younger was born June 24, 1905 in Yaleville, AR. As a infant child Beulah and her family left Arkansas in a covered wagon. A short time later in 1906 they homesteaded in Hulbert, Indian Territory. Another move would take her to Nowata, and finally to Claremore from Nowata in 1973. She was a member of Central Christian Church. Beulah loved to cook, and enjoyed sharing her cooking talent with her friends and family. Her specialty was butterscotch pie. Beulah was loved dearly, and will be missed by her family and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Downing who died in a car wreck in 1939; second husband, Bill Buster who died in 1973; her parents; sons: Billy, Jerry Dale and William; brother, L.S. Younger; and sisters: Lee,Nora, Hazel, and Lois.
Beulah is survived by her daughters: June Mayberry and husband, Jack of Claremore, Jane Cartwright of Collinsville, Ella Fuzzell and husband, Dale of Claremore, Billie Reeves and husband, Jack of Rochester, NY, and Patsy Cothrun and husband, Ken of Globe, AZ; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
