Beverly Sue Duncan

Funeral service for Beverly Sue Duncan will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Inola First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held 1 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with family greeting friends from 6 - 8 p.m.

Beverly Duncan passed away Friday, January 20, 2012, in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 75.

The daughter of David and Charlene Crocker Rose was born April 15, 1936 in Springfield, Missouri. As a young child, she and her family moved to Tulsa. There she was raised, and attended Will Rogers High School. September 5, 1953 she married her high school sweetheart Thomas Duncan Jr. in Sapulpa. In November of 1961 Beverly accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Over the next couple of years Beverly and Thom were called to serve the Lord. Beverly was very active in the churches where Thom pastored, She taught Sunday School and was very active in Church ministries. Over the next several years their ministry would move several times. They lived in Wright City, Purcell, Saranac Lake, New York and finally in 1971 they found there way to Inola, Oklahoma Once in Inola, Beverly took a job at Claremore Regional Hospital in Claremore as a nurse aid. However once again, she and Thom were called to serve elsewhere. This time they found their way to Tulsa, Okmulgee, back to Inola, and then to Big Cabin where they served until officially retiring in 2005. After retirement they moved to Prague to live near their son. Her hobbies included fishing, going to Branson, and most of all spending time with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, David Rose and Charlene Williams; brother, Alan Rose , and her granddaughter, Jaime Lanee Trosky.

Survivors include her husband Thomas Duncan Jr. of the home; children, Pam Anderson and husband Ken of Shawnee, Kristie Turner and husband Bobby of Inola and Tommy Duncan and wife Cynthia of Prague; grandchildren, Trinity Addy, Amanda Jones Duncan, Tamara Wooten and husband Glenn, Tommy Lee Duncan, Jr. and wife Heather, Tiffany Turner, Tod Duncan, Tyler Duncan, Kaylee Jo Turner, and Zac Trosky; great-grandchildren, Triston, Emma, and Ethan Trosky, Skylar and Dakota Sams, Lane Addy, William James Wooten, Wyatt Duncan, Raegan Turner and Lyla Duncan and brother, David Rose and wife Karen of California.
