Services for Beverly Ann Pilgrim will be 10:00a.m., Monday, October 12, 2015 at Friendly Foyil Baptist Church, her pastor Mike Clark will officiate. Services are under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Beverly passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the age of 76.
Beverly Ann Pilgrim was born June 19, 1939 in Houston, Texas to Lester B. and Madeline Freling (Smith) Saunders, Beverly was reared and educated in her birth community, graduating from San Jancinto High School with the class of 1957. Beverly attended Claremore Junior College and graduated with an associates degree in nursing. Her career took a different path than expected, she began working as a secretary for Sherriff Amos Ward. This began a work history with the Rogers County Court House that lasted until her retirement in 2012. She worked with L.C. Wofford, June Lunsford and Candy Czapansky. Even after retirement, Beverly came back to the court house and worked as a minute clerk for the judges. It was know around the court house that she was a fun and energetic person that was well loved by all.
Beverly loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She made sure each and everyone had a present under the tree on Christmas Eve. Beverly loved to read and bird watch, but her most favorite pastime was fishing. She was a good cook and loved having her family over for special dinners.
A wonderful mother, grandmother and friend, Beverly will be missed by all who knew her. Those family members that survive include her children Madeline Tanner and Jimmy Paul and wife Tina all of Claremore; her grandchildren Billy Lentz, Bobby Lentz, Brandi Paul and Jimmy Paul and 20 great-grandchildren. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy Paul Pilgrim, son John Michael Paul and son-in-law Charles Franklin Tanner.
