Billy Dean Maggard

Graveside service for Billy Dean Maggard will be 1 p.m., Wed., Oct. 20, at Dawes Cemetery with Rev. Rick Burke officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Chelsea Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m.

Billy died Sat., Oct. 16, 2010, at Claremore Indian Hospital at the age of 75.

The son of Ellis and Irene (Mitchell) Maggard was born July 10, 1935, in Tiawah. Billy attended South Branch and Condry schools. He worked as a pipeliner and as a heavy equipment operator. Billy enjoyed dancing, fishing, and social networking.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Jake Maggard, Lon "Lud" Maggard, and Betty Lewis; and grandson, Matthew Dean Maggard.

He is survived by children: Mike Maggard and wife, Rhonda of Claremore, Randy "Tinker" Maggard and wife, Sherry of Chelsea, Joe Maggard of Chelsea, Debbie Bassett and husband, Terry of Chelsea, and Billie Barlow of Miami; brother, Joe Maggard of Herrington, KS; 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
