Services for Billy Leroy Patton were 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2017. at the House of Prayer. Pastor Lynn Jones officiated. Burial followed at Wards Grove Cemetery under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
Billy Leroy Patton entered Heaven’s gates on January 22, 2017 at the age of 73. He was born July 1, 1943 to Charley Patton and Elizabeth Setters Patton, in Claremore, Oklahoma. He graduated from Claremore High School in 1961, and joined the Navy.He later transferred to the Army to be with his friend, Will Scribner. He was honorably discharged in 1964. Billy worked various jobs early in his life, from dozer operator to dragline operator in the coal mines.He worked for nearly 25 years with UOP/ASEC/Unicore as a utility operator, and retired in 2005. Billy enjoyed fishing, and loved spending time with his grandchildren, Auzlynn and Billy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley Earl Patton and Elizabeth Setters Patton, one sister, Frances Ross, and an infant brother, Richard Patton. He was survived by his two sons, Jeff Patton of Sayre, Oklahoma, and Brad Patton, his wife Sherri and two grandchildren, Auzlynn and Billy, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, as well as six sisters and brothers, Thelma Chaney and Betty England Taylor, both of Claremore, Oklahoma, Earl Patton, Lloyd Patton, and Dean Woods, all of Chelsea, Oklahoma, and Harold Patton of Trinidad, Colorado.
