Billy Warren Scullawl, 78, passed away on March 4, 2025. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Faith Holiness Tabernacle in Claremore, with burial to follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
Billy was born on May 13, 1946, in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, to Warren and Iona (Andrews) Scullawl. His family later moved to Tulsa, where he attended East Central High School and played basketball, earning a scholarship to Connors State College. In 1966, he proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving until 1968. After his honorable discharge, he pursued his education at Northeastern State University, earning a bachelor's degree in education while working full-time for the Tulsa Police Department.
In the late 1960s, Billy met the love of his life, Judy McKinney. They married in 1970 and made their home in Catoosa, where they raised their family. Billy dedicated his life to serving the people of Tulsa, and his community, serving on the Board of Directors and the Catoosa Planning Commission.
After retiring from the Tulsa Police Department, Billy enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and most importantly, cherishing moments with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Scullawl and Iona Williams and husband Melvin; brother, David Scullawl; and sister, Alberta.
Billy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy; sons, Kurt Scullawl and Kory Scullawl and wife Bethany; grandchildren, Trent, Sydney, Eliza, and Emilia Scullawl; and siblings, Mickey Scullawl, Martin Williams, and Joan Decamp.
