Funeral service for Bobbie Heaton will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel. Chaplin Mark Tibey and Pastor Michael Harrison will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Bobbie Louise Heaton passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Villages at Southern Hills surrounded by family at the age of 88.
The daughter of Robert and Mary Dornwell James was born June 15, 1924 in Temple, Texas. As a young girl she attended Temple public schools. A few years later she met and married a career military man. The next several years she lived in Germany. This gave her the opportunity to visit many European countries. Upon her husbands discharge, they made their way to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Quickly she found a church home, and became a member of the Skelly Drive Baptist Church. She also joined other local organizations such as the Golden Age tap dancers at Heathers dance studio and the TOPS organization both in Claremore. In her spare time she loved reading, watching tennis, gymnastics and football, especially the Dallas Cowboys and The University of Texas Longhorns.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary and husband, Andrew Heaton.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy Harrison and husband Richard of Tulsa and Andrea Barrows and husband Jon of Springfield, MO; grandchildren, Steve Harrison and wife Susie of Tulsa, Ric Harrison and partner, Ricky Joe of Tulsa, and Michael Harrison and wife Julie of Collinsville, VA, Wesley Barrows of Fayetteville, AR and Melanie Barrows of Norman and great-grandchildren, Seth, Rachel, Cooper, Hannah, Kramer, Quincy, Rebecca, Ruth and Ryan.
