Bobbie Sue McQueen

Memorial service for Barbara Sue "Bobbie" McQueen will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at First United Methodist Church. Bobbie passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022. She was 86.

Born December 20, 1935 in Miami, Oklahoma to Francis Leonard and Lydia Ruth (Williams) Coble, Bobbie graduated high school in Isabel, Kansas in 1953. On February 11, 1955, she married Tommy Jay McQueen in Wichita, Kansas. The couple made their home first in Kansas, then later in Verdigris, Oklahoma. Bobbie worked as a bookkeeper until they started their family and was able to stay home and raise their children. She went to her bookkeeping career after Kim entered school. She worked for Rural Water District #5, First United Methodist Church, and retired from Unit Rig in the mid-80's.

Bobbie took great care of her family. she was involved with all of her children's activities such as scouts, sports, and their school events. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, canning, and hosting all of the family holidays at her and Tom's home. Bobbie loved spending time with all of her grandchildren. She would have them spend the night then take them to breakfast at McDonald's on and on occasion to Walmart for a shopping trip. She was also very active in her church from teaching children's Sunday School, VBS, to her Sunday School Class and Woman's Circle. Tom and Bobbie loved to travel all of the country (even in a few places they probably shouldn't have been) with her sister Pat and her husband, Lonnie.

Those family members that survive include her children Patrick McQueen and wife Michele, Jeffrey McQueen, Leland McQueen and wife Connie, and Kimberly Dowd and husband Lyle; grandchildren John and wife Brandi, David, Chloe, Blake and wife Holly, Steven, Rachael and husband Caleb, Heather, Mariah, Ryan, and Sarah; great grandchildren Randy, Audree, Kayla, JJ, Avery, Asher, and Blakely; great great grandchildren Josiah, Gabriel, Zander, and Xapphire. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, siblings; James Moore, Ruth Morris, Monte (Bud) Coble, Gene Cravens, Joe McGeary, Jerry Coble, Patricia Rue, Fern Moore, Baby Moore, and Betty Lou Coble.
