Bobby Joe Holt

   Funeral service for Bobby Joe Holt will be held on July 12th, 2023 at 12:30 at Faith Holiness Tabernacle in Claremore, OK. Prior to the service there will be a visitation from 10:30 to 11:30, and lunch from 11:30 to 12:30.     
   Bobby Joe Holt departed his earthly life and went home to be with Jesus on July 1st, 2023. The son of Luther Franklin and Nellie Campbell-Holt was born on June 21st, 1929 in Maud, OK. He was raised near Sequoyah/Claremore, where he graduated High School and then entered the Navy and served during the Korean War. After his naval service, Bob attended college in South Carolina before moving to Los Angeles, CA, where he met Betty Louise Green through his sister Kathleen’s work bowling league at Public Finance Co. After a whirlwind courtship, the couple were married at The Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, NV on February 16th, 1957. Bob and Betty made their first home in Los Angeles, where their daughter, Brigita was born. Bob worked as an insurance claims adjuster and Betty as a bookkeeper. Bob's profession moved them to Texas, Colorado, and back to California before settling permanently in Oklahoma. Bob opened an independent insurance agency in Claremore, OK, which he later sold and began building new construction homes while working at McDonnell-Douglas, Rockwell, and Boeing, which he retired from in 1991. His hobbies included: coin collecting, painting, volunteering for many charitable organizations and churches, but mainly, just spending time with and being surrounded by his friends, family and those he loved.

   He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Betty Louise, and eight siblings: James, Marchetta, Aaron, Chuck, Tom, Kathleen, Nelda, and Vera Lou.                                                   
   Survivors include daughter, Brigita and husband Tom Pepper, daughter, Balisa Sherman, daughter, Bobette Liebman and husband Rick, son Byron Holt and grandchildren; Chad Sherman, Kylee Phillips, Ashton Pepper and Alexis Liebman and great-grandson; Everett Malkmus and sister; Ruby Bibbs.
