Bonnie Louisa Cook

May 21, 1932 — August 21, 2021

Bonnie Louisa Cook, the oldest child of Pearl and Laura (Thomas) Jackson, was born on May 21, 1932, in Allen, Kansas. She went to be with the LORD on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at her home in Inola, Oklahoma. Bonnie was 89 years and 3 months old.
She graduated from Eskridge High School in Eskridge, Kansas. On May 6, 1950, she married her high school sweetheart, Lowell Earnest Cook, in Eskridge, Kansas. They moved numerous times, but in 1964 they settled in Inola. Faith, family, and home were always the priorities of her life.
Raising six children was no easy task. After moving to Inola from California, she began babysitting in her home, sometimes more than twenty children a day. Bonnie was a member of First Baptist Church of Inola, serving as Primary Sunday School Teacher for 50 years. She also enjoyed singing in the choir. She was a member of ESA Sigma Chi, an organization focusing on community and friendship. Bonnie served as president in 1994-1995. She also worked at Mid-America Yarn Mill in Pryor, Oklahoma for many years. She loved gardening, canning, sewing, crocheting, using liquid embroidery paints to decorate quilts, pillow cases, and her clothing. Her collection of over 200 dolls brought her great joy. She enjoyed fishing as much as she enjoyed eating them.
Welcoming Bonnie home were her father and mother, Pearl and Laura Jackson, her husband L.E. Cook, great-granddaughter Kylee Mayall, two sons-in-law, Jim Dotson and George King, and brother-in-law Merrill Cook.
Bonnie is survived by two sons and four daughters, Ken and wife Vickie Cook of Inola, Russell Cook of Winter Springs, FL, Marjory Dotson of Inola, Joyce Ward and husband David of Cleveland, OK, Jane King of Tulsa, OK, and Christy Thompson and husband Ken of Adair, OK; siblings Ethel Kahle and husband Red of Manhattan, KS, and Joe Jackson and wife Julia of Topeka, KS; brother-in-law Leland Cook and wife Kathy of Vancouver, WA.
She will continue to be loved and missed by 19 grandchildren: Jeff, Patricia, Chad, Ricky, Jeremy, Eric, Jason, Karen, Tina, Bonnie, Laura, Mandy, Jennifer, Andy, Matt, Julie, Samantha, Josh, and Tim; 49 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
