Bonnie Lue Gary

November 9, 1943 — September 9, 2022

Memorial service for Bonnie Lue Gary will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the Inola Funeral Home, Inola, Oklahoma.

Bonnie passed away peacefully at 6:03 a.m. on Friday, September 9th, 2022, at the age of 78.

The daughter of Hugh Ellis and Edna Easley-Stephens, Bonnie was born at home on November 9, 1943, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  As a young girl, she was raised in Tulsa and attended Edison High School, graduating as a member of the class of 1962.  While living in Tulsa, she met and married Cecil White. Bonnie and Cecil had 3 daughters together and made their home in Huntsville, Arkansas. There she owned and operated C&B Drive-In.  In 1977, Bonnie and her girls moved back to Tulsa, and over the next several years she worked for Chris Nickel’s Auto Haus as the Title Clerk.  It was also during this time that she first met Charles Gary through mutual friends.  They married on January 18, 1988.  In 1993, once all the girls graduated, Bonnie enrolled in truck driving school and became an over-the-road truck driver with Charles.  She would do this until retiring in 2008.

In her spare time, Bonnie had many hobbies and pastimes she enjoyed.  She loved dancing to country music, going to the casino, riding the Harley with Charles and just about anything as long as she was outside. When she was inside, you could almost always find her in front of the TV watching a ballgame. However, her favorite activities revolved around her children and grandchildren.  Over the years, she attended hundreds of ball games and other activities with her family.  Her family is truly what made her the happiest.  She was a loving mom, nannie, sister and friend to many and will be missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Edna Stephens; husband, Charles Gary; and great-grandsons, Coleman Bolin and Elliott McCoy.

Survivors include her three daughters, Rhonda McCoy and husband Michael of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tera Odell and husband Jim of Eufaula, Oklahoma, and Kam Cochran and husband Jeremy of Kansas, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, Amie, Eric, Keith, Taylor, Luke, Tristan, Tyler, Kaylyn, Bill, Brandon and Whitly; and nine great-grandchildren, Denver, Brantlie, George, LuKasey, Remi, Teddy, Miyah, Adam and baby girl Ingram coming soon; sister, Sue Massey of Owasso, Oklahoma; and brother, Roy Stephens and wife Kathi of Neosho, Missouri.
