Bonnie Faye Wheeler

Bonnie Faye Wheeler passed away on May 6, 2023 at 98 years old. Bonnie was born to Alvy Jessie McMath and Flora Irene McMath on March 4, 1925, in Ozark, Arkansas and she later attended Colcord Public Schools until the 8th grade. The family moved to Broken Arrow, Ok and Bonnie settled in Claremore in 1968 where she lived until her passing.

Bonnie had many hobbies such as quilting, sewing, fishing, working in her yard, and a hobby farm. Throughout the years, Bonnie had chickens and cows that she thoroughly enjoyed, but she found the most enjoyment in planting, maintaining, and harvesting her gardens. Bonnie carried on older traditional activities such as canning and found great pleasure in stocking cabinets and freezers with her fruits and vegetables. She was a very giving person and you could not leave her house without her giving you a jar of jelly, canned veggies, or frozen peaches to take home.

She is preceded in death by her husband Roosevelt Wheeler; parents Alvy and Flora McMath; siblings, Andrew, Ida, Ruby, Goldie, and Patsy.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Henry Deckard, Tony Deckard and Linda Stevenson; siblings, Luther, Charlie, Hazel, Lois, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
