Bryant Lee Hass

Bryant Lee Hass completed his life journey in Tulsa, OK, surrounded by family and friends on November 19, 2014.
Bryant was born in San Diego, California on January 5, 1956, the son of Jerry and Melba Hass. Bryant was the oldest of three siblings. He attended grade school in Jay, and Salina, OK and graduated from Salina High School in 1974. He came to love camping, hunting and all outdoor activities with his father and uncles in Eucha, Oklahoma, where he spent his early years. Bryant was a true outdoorsman, and his passion and respect for the outdoors has certainly been left with the many friends and acquaintances he touched over the years on his adventures.
Bryant attended NEO A&M College in Miami, OK where he met the love of his life, Teresa Lynn Carpenter. They were married June 12, 1976 at Calvary Baptist Church in Inola, OK. Theirs was a marriage beyond compare. Their deep love and commitment for each other epitomized the true essence of two lives joined together.
Bryant and Teresa made their home in Inola, OK where they raised their three boys; Jacob, Joshua, & Jason. The years were filled with sporting events, hunting, camping, vacations and the countless hours spent just out shooting guns together.
Bryant was a wonderful father and husband but on January 28th, 2011 when his only grandson was born, Bryant discovered the joy of becoming a Papa to his Myles. Myles and Papa spent countless hours constructing train tracks and going on their “walk abouts” through the woods and around town. Bryant’s legacy of character will forever shine through his grandsons eyes.
Bryant chose steel erection as a career in 1978 and was a member of the Iron Workers Local 584 graduating, apprentice class of 1980. For 35 years, he worked many jobs across the country in the company of co workers who became his best friends. Bryant survived a serious fall in November 1994, and after a long recovery, he returned to work at Bennett Steel Erectors. He retired in 2013 after 30 years with Bennett Steel.
Bryant was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Fannie Leah Rives and Charles Lee Hass and his paternal grandparents Dott Manila Ward and Bryant Benjamin Ward. He is survived by: his beloved wife of 38 years, Teresa; sons, Jacob Hass and wife, Stephanie of Inola, OK, Joshua Hass and wife Aimee of Owasso, OK and Jason “Julio” Hass of Tulsa, OK; grandson, Myles Hass of Owasso, OK; parents, Jerry and Melba Hass of Salina, OK; sisters, Anita Hass of Inola, OK and Melisa Stricklen and husband, Kenny of Pryor, OK and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Bryant also leaves behind many dear and beloved friends, too numerous to mention all by name. Loving his family and friends unconditionally was one of his endearing attributes.
With his brilliant smile and vivacious nature, Bryant had and will continue to have a profound impact on everyone who was blessed to know him. Even in his sudden and untimely death, he is blessing many more lives through his gift of organ donation.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 25 at First Baptist Church of Inola, 500 E Commercial St. Inola, OK. Charles Hocutt will officiate. Burial will follow at Sweeten Cemetery in Inola. Visitation will be held Monday from 1pm to 8pm at Inola Funeral Home & Crematory, 310 N Broadway, Inola, OK. The family will meet with friends from 6pm to 8pm.
