Funeral service for Caleb Dakota Laird will be 10 a.m., Fri., Feb. 1, at Inola Christian Church with Pastor Caleb "Bob" Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Caleb passed away Sun., Jan. 27, 2013, at the age of 17.
He was born Oct. 24, 1995, in Oklahoma City. Caleb grew up in Inola and was a Junior at Inola High School. He was an active member of Inola Christian Church, and had just started playing in the youth band. His Christmas gift a year ago was a set of drums and he taught himself to play, and he really enjoyed it. He was active at school in ROTC program, and Ms.Tice’s music program. Caleb also enjoyed playing video games and traveling. His favorite trip was to Washington, D.C. where he loved to learn the nation's history.
He is survived by his mother, Terri R. Laird of Oregon; grandparents: Roy and Jan Laird of the home; great-grandmother, Mary Malaske of Vian; aunts and uncles: Brian Laird and wife, Troye of Coweta, and Dewayne Blevins and wife, Johnette of Muskogee, and Aunt Jeri of Vian; cousins: Arian Laird of Coweta, Brandon Blevins of Muskogee, and Brandy Cluck and husband Danny of Shawnee; and many other extended family members. He was proceeded in death by a brother, Seth Thomas and great grandmother Janice Adams of Muskogee, OK.
