Carl Joe Crutchfield passed away with his family by his side in Chelsea, Oklahoma on August 28th, 2020. He was 84 years old. Joe was born on June 24th, 1936 to Tom and Susie Crutchfield in Claremore, Oklahoma. He grew up in Tiawah, Ok, attending elementary school in Tiawah and Willieo, then graduated high school from Inola, Oklahoma.
Joe moved to Chelsea, where he planted his roots and raised a family. He was a simple man, enjoying the little things in life. He enjoyed fishing and working on anything and everything. Joe was the local electrician in Chelsea. Most people called him $35 dollar Joe. Whatever the task, he would charge someone only $35. He enjoyed helping people and making sure his friends and family were taken care of.
Joe enjoyed being close to home and the town of Chelsea. He didn't want to get too far away because he was afraid someone would need him. When he would go out of town he enjoyed his family vacations to Red River, New Mexico and Pikes Peak in Colorado.
Above everything thing else in his life, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grand kids.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Susie Crutchfield.
He is survived by his daughters Barbara Dingle of Tulsa and Wendy Hemphill of Chelsea; son Shawn Steffen; brothers Kenneth and Jerry Crutchfield, both of Tiawah; sisters Barbara Hall of Foyil, and Rosetta Hoflinch of Claremore; grandchildren; Ashley Whinery, Mason Hemphill and wife Jessica, great-grandchildren; Cash Whinery, Parker Whinery, Lennon Hemphill, Adley Whinery and Ryland Hemphill; and special friend Ellen Leathers.
