Funeral service for Carol Ann Alton will be 11 a.m., Wed., April 14, at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Tom Launius officiating. Burial will be held at Howe Cemetery, Charleroi, PA. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m. The family would like to invite friends to attend a luncheon at First Presbyterian Church following the service.
Carol died Fri., April 9, 2010, at Continuous Care Center, Tulsa, at the age of 80.
The daughter of William George and Hannah Gertrude (Houton) Hudler was born Nov. 17, 1929, in Pittsburgh, PA, at Allegheny General Hospital. Carol graduated from Charleroi Area High School and California State College now California University of California, PA. She taught high school in the Canon McMillan School District, and served on the Charleroi Area Board of Education. Carol also worked with the Department of Labor and Industry as a claims interviewer.
In 1948, Carol married Jack Foster Alton in Cumberland, MD. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Charleroi, singing in the Junior and Senior Choirs. Carol taught Sunday School, Bible School, was president of the young people’s class, adult class, and missionary group. She also served as an Elder and Trustee. Carol moved to Oklahoma and taught school at the Will Rogers Junior High School in Claremore. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Claremore and served as an Elder and Trustee.
Carol is survived by her children: Deborah Colette Partezana and husband, John of Claremore, Dent Foster Alton of New Stanton, PA, and John Randall Alton and wife, Jacqueline of Rockville, MD; grandchildren: John G. Partezana, Jr. and wife, Mendi of Claremore, Travis Foster Alton and wife, Shelly of Bentleyville, PA, and Alexandria Loretta and Sean Patrick Alton of Rockville, MD; great-grandchildren: Tomi Jene Marie Partezana and John Jackson Partezana of Claremore, and Traelynn Alton of Bentleyville, PA; brothers: William G. Hudler of Elk Grove, CA, Frank E. Hudler of Kent, WA, George D. Hudler of Polk City, FL, and Robert Hudler of Polk City, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Jack in 1998; parents; and sister, Loretta E. Rice of Stockton, CA.
