Funeral service for Carolyn Sue Chasteen will be at 10am, Thurs. Feb. 27, at River of Life Assembly of God. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wed. 2-7pm, and family will be there to greet friends.
Sue passed away on Monday, Feb. 17,2025, surrounded by family at the age of 78.
The daughter of Oscar Wyatt and Clara Julia (Jeschke) Willis was born October 22,1946 in Pryor, OK. She attended school in Inola and received her GED. While attending school and church she met the love of her life, Donald Jerry Chasteen and they married on December 1, 1961. She was a devoted wife and mother. Sue received her cosmetology license and occasionally worked locally in the beauty shops while her children attended school.
She attended Rhema Bible college graduating in 1981.
Sue retired from Volunteers of America in 1999.
She devoted her time to her husband and children making sure they all were happy, healthy and fed. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, camping trips, cooking and running her children where they needed to be at any time. She was so proud of her family.
Sue is preceded in death by her husband Donald J. Chasteen, her parents, brothers, Robert and Elton, Sisters: Joan and Patricia, and foster son Scott Horner.
She is survived by her children: Diane Amos of Inola, Donnie Chasteen of Inola, Preston Chasteen and wife Araceli of Claremore. Grandchildren: Tony Deckard and wife Jen, Ronny Deckard and wife Jenny, Sherri Combs and husband Dustin, Jessica Chasteen, D.J. Chasteen and wife Emilie, Sami Wallace and husband Derek, Samantha Swinney and husband Zach, Levi Chasteen and wife Makayla. Great-Grandchildren: Janelle Urban and husband Billy, Brennon Allen, Sebastian, Wyatt, Gage and Leslie Deckard, Cali, Cooper and Grady Combs, Mila and Presleigh Wise, Dalton Wallace, Braden Swinney, Levi Jr., Mili and Brick Reagor. And a great grandbaby Girl on the way. Foster Daughter Tracy. And a host of nieces and nephews.
