Carolyn Sue Self

Graveside service for Carolyn Sue Self will be 11 a.m., Tues., July 9, at Ward's Grove Cemetery, Foyil, with Rev. Allen Dunn officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Chelsea Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Mon. 1-6 p.m.

Carolyn died Fri., July 5, 2013, at St. John Hospital at the age of 66.

The daughter of James Walter and Wilma Mae (Croff) Lewis was born Feb. 10, 1947, in Tulsa. On April 14, 1967, Carolyn married Edward Duwane Self in Claremore. Carolyn was a homemaker and a devoted mother. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and making afghans for all the kids. She loved to go camping, and attending family get togethers. She also enjoyed gardening, and collected 367 thimbles from all over the world.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her son, Kevin Lewis; her parents; and great-granddaughter, Madisson.

She is survived by her husband, Duwane Self of the home; children: Susan Dobbs and husband, Charlie of Chelsea, and James Self and wife, Leeanna of Tiawah; daughter-in-law, Tonya Lewis of Chelsea; grandchildren: Mandy, Michael, Aubrey, Colten, Gunner, Cody, Huly, and Sidnie; great-grandchildren: Savannah, Lexi, Chloe, Brandon, and Ally; brothers: David Lewis of Chelsea, Larry Lewis of Claremore, and Mike Lewis of Claremore; brother-in-law, Terry Self and wife, Rhonda of Sapulpa; and sister-in-law, Linda Spence of Houston, TX.
