Carolyn Sue Smith was born June 4, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She passed away on January 6, 2018 at the age of 64. She attended school in Tulsa and continued her education by obtaining degrees in nursing and a masters degree in public health. She was employed by OSU Medical Center for the past 44 years.
Carolyn enjoyed many diverse, extreme interests. These adventures included being a volunteer firefighter, skydiving, skiing, motorcycle and race car driving just to name a few.
Carolyn was very active in the community. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years to her daughter and other young girls. She volunteered annually for the Tulsa Tough bike race. She was a very active member of her church. She donated for many years to the American Red Cross until she was no longer able. With her large heart it would take too long to name all of the ways in which she showed she cared and loved.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter Nicole Cole; grandson, Derick Cole; mother and stepfather, Helen and George Miller; sisters, Rebecca Auberry and husband Jeff, and Kimberly Chamberlin and husband Gary, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, James R. Woods and sister Tresa Bort.
