Funeral service for Cary Lloyd Jones will be 10 a.m., Tues., June 23, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Clark officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Mon. 1-5 p.m.
Cary passed away Fri., June 19, 2015, at the age of 61.
The son of Gus William Jones, Jr. and Frances Irene (Hayes) Jones was born May 25, 1954, in Enid. Cary grew up in Tulsa and Foyil, graduating from Foyil High School where he played basketball. He also attended vo-tech in the machinist program. In Jan. 1978, Cary married Brenda Kay Webb in Tulsa. Cary went to Tulsa Bible College and earned his seminary degree. He went on to serve as Pastor of Imanuel Baptist Church, Shady Grove Baptist Church, Imanuel Baptist Church of Waldron, and the First Baptist Church of Thackerville. Cary was a member of the Southern Baptist Association. He also worked as a master machinist at Tulsa Screw Products and Baker Hughes.
Cary loved being outdoors fishing or tending to his big garden. He also enjoyed reading and watching movies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Frances Jones.
He is survived by his daughters: Heather Compton and husband, Brandon of Claremore, Amber Pennington and husband, Raymond Pennington, Sr. of Claremore, and Hannah Jones and fiance, Abdul Bit-Shawish of Broken Arrow; grandsons: Jacob Compton, Garret Compton, and Raymond Pennington, Jr.; sister, Nancy Casey of Claremore; nephew, Rick Casey of Claremore; and niece, Cynthia Thornburg of Claremore.
