Cathy Elaine Bushyhead

Funeral services for Cathy Bushyhead will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 10:00am at Claremore Assembly of God. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 2:00pm-6:00pm with family receiving friends from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Cathy passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024, she was 66.

Cathy Elaine Bushyhead passed away on July 7, 2024, at the age of 66. Cathy was born on August 30, 1957, in Pryor, OK, to VanOrr Buddy Burkhead and Alma Janine Eddy Burkhead. She attended Claremore High School and graduated in 1976, then went on to attend ORU. Cathy traveled with a Christian singing group and later helped care for her nieces and nephews whenever she could.

She married Arthur Bill Bushyhead and became a devoted stay-at-home mom to their two children, Dayanara Basks and William Bushyhead. Cathy had a passion for playing the piano and loved attending church. She adored her grandchildren and always tried to be present for them. Cathy was known for her love of fashion, always matching her clothes and taking care to look her best. She was a free spirit who never stayed in one place for too long, always on the move.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, VanOrr and Alma Burkhead; her husband, Arthur (Bill) Bushyhead; her brother, VanOrr Burkhead, and his wife, Mary Burkhead; and brothers-in-law, Michael J. McCalin, Richard Fumi, Jim Hinkle, John Ritter, and Lance Whorton.

She is survived by her son, William Bushyhead; her daughter, Dayanara Basks and her husband Job Million; her brother, Donnie Burkhead and his wife Cathleen; her sisters, Carolyn Fumi, Barbara Ritter, and Donna Whorton; and her grandchildren, Emily Bushyhead, Zaylyn Basks, Jeffery Basks, Faith Million, and Maverick Million, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Cathy is now in the presence of the Lord and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
