Cathy Colleen Moore

Funeral service for Cathy Moore will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 21, 2023 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.  Cathy passed away on July 12, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on June 12, 1954, in Claremore, Oklahoma to Jack Odell and Wanda Imogean Franklin (Boone). 

Cathy had a vibrant personality that left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Though she spent some time in San Jose, California as a child, her family moved to Tulsa for a time and she attended Will Rogers High School. As the oldest of eight siblings, Cathy took on the responsibility of being the glue that held her family together. She cherished family gatherings and made sure that everyone came together for holidays and special occasions.

Family was an essential part of Cathy's life. Not only did she play an active role in her grandchildren's lives, but she also helped raise some of them. Her love knew no bounds, and she had a remarkable ability to forgive and care for others deeply. Cathy's caring nature extended beyond her immediate family; she genuinely valued friendships and maintained strong bonds with those close to her.

Cathy had a great sense of humor and could effortlessly bring joy into any room. She found solace in collecting lighthouses and decorating her home with them. The calming presence of these beacons by the sea reflected Cathy's inner tranquility.  In her leisure time, Cathy enjoyed watching movies and shows that transported her to different worlds. However, nothing compared to the serenity she found at a cabin by the lake during the summer months. Surrounded by nature's beauty, Cathy was able to unwind and immerse herself in peace.  Throughout her life, Cathy shared unconditional love with many animals who held a special place in her heart. Among them was her beloved bird Jack who brought immeasurable happiness into her life.

Those family members that survive include her daughter Sandra Bennett; her grandchildren: Miranda Elrod, Dillon Franklin, Alec Franklin, Noah Franklin, Skyly Poorboy, and Star Poorboy; her great-grandchildren Emery Miller and Reagan Franklin; her brothers David Franklin, Richard Franklin, Kenny Franklin, and Gene Franklin.  Cathy was preceded in death by her parents Jack Odell and Wanda Imogean (Boone) Franklin, her daughter Angela Jean Franklin, and her brother Johnie Ray Franklin.
