Graveside services for Cecil McPheeters will the at 10:00am, Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Chelsea Cemetery, under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Cecil passed away at his home on Monday, September 7, 2015 at the age of 72.
Cecil Ray McPheeters was born August 20, 1943 in Claremore, Ok, to Robert Hughston and Elizabeth Wilson McPheeters. He was reared and educated in his birth community until the 8th grade. His family moved to Grand Prairie, Texas and he completed his schooling there, graduating with the class of 1961 from Arlington High School. Cecil continued his education by attending college. Following his schooling, he began working in the aerospace industry. His first job was with LTV. He also worked for Bell Helicopter. Later he moved to California and worked for Northrop.
Cecil married his high school sweetheart Dianna Gail Graham and together they had 1 son. When Cecil retired, he moved back home to his Oklahoma homestead. Cecil loved being on the farm and also enjoyed fishing, tinkering with machinery and carpentry work. He was very involved with his church, New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. Those family members that survive include his children Steven M. McPheeters and his wife Sandra of Garden Grove, California and Dana L. Beck and her husband Greg of Bushyhead; his grandchildren Madison and Megan McPheeters and Brent Beck; his siblings Bob McPheeters of Aurora, Colorado, Jerald McPheeters of Graham, Texas, Carolyn Michael of Alvarado, Texas and Richard McPheeters of Claremore; his companion Margaret Rogers. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dianna and brother Donald McPheeters.
